Palio di Siena
The most exciting event of the summer: July 2nd and August 16th. You can experience it during the 'hot days' with a full package including great seats, or any day through the stories of jockeys (featured in books like The Assassins).

Off season Italy
From November through Easter, the crowds are gone. The weather is unpredictable, but no lines at museums and very few people around. Winter offers great hotel rates. Tuscany, Rome, Turin, Naples, Pompeii, are our favorite.
